The Company

Global Link Services (GLS) is an office functioning under the international Banking Group of State Bank of India. Located at Mukbai, GLS handles SBI Express Rupee, the online remittance product of SBI for individual remittances from Middle East to India.

SBI Express Rupee is a rapid and cost-effective solution that facilitates remittances from the Middle East countries to India through exchange houses in the Middle East. It handles individual Indian Rupee (INR) transactions covering a vast network of 12300 SBI branches and 40000+ branches of other banks in India. Money is easily sent to any bank beneficiary in India through Direct Credit, GRPT, NEFT or Demand Draft modes. Nominal remittance rates are offered with reliable service and remittance instructions can be posted 24x7 at any time and on any day.

The Challenge

Due to the nature of their business, GLS had to constantly coordinate with their customers majorly in the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom.

GLS was using the traditional PRI lines for outbound calls, the rates of which were very high. They wanted to have a cost-effective alternative for outbound and inbound calling for their multinational locations across the globe.

Also, GLS had a special requirement - an international toll free number for their customers to call SBI for enquiry.

The Solution

Sify offered MPLS Voice Services to facilitate outbound and inbound calling across various countries. Along with end-to-end management, Sify also took care of the bandwidth. With the IP based solution GLS was able to reduce their cost up to 40% and simultaneously increase their business.
